TTC Rapid Toronto Expansion

TTC Rapid Toronto Expansion

Toronto, ON - Mayoral candidate Frank D'Amico has announced his plan for the TTC Rapid Toronto Expansion, a development partnership aimed at rebuilding the Gardner Expressway from the 427 to the DVP with private funding partnerships. The plan includes ground-to-sky developments above the TTC Rapid Transit, Gardner Expressway, The Queensway, and Lakeshore Blvd East & West.

Under this plan, long-term land leases for developers will be provided in return for their assistance in rebuilding the Gardner Expressway and TTC projects. The land can be redeveloped into green spaces, malls, affordable housing towers, hotel towers, casinos, tourist attractions, event spaces, schools or post-secondary locations, and office towers.

The Rapid Transit system will extend from Woodbine Park to Sherway Gardens Mall and will be built below or above Lakeshore Blvd & Gardner Expressway. This will greatly improve transit accessibility for Toronto residents and visitors alike.

Additionally, a new waterfront project will enhance the 509 Queens Quay & part of the 501 Queen Street Car Line at the Queensway between Roncesvalles & Humber Bay.

"I am excited to unveil my plan for the TTC Rapid Toronto Expansion," said D'Amico. "This partnership will allow for the rebuilding of the Gardner Expressway with private funding, while also creating new opportunities for development and transit expansion in Toronto. It's time to build a better, more connected city for everyone."

This plan will offer immense benefits to Toronto's economy, with an increase in job creation and economic growth. It will also provide improved transit access for residents and visitors, while offering new and exciting development opportunities.
